Lulu Himeji is a girl who resembles a typical shoujo manga protagonist, living a bright and social high school life. Because of her father's job, she moves to a new school, excited about starting fresh. However, she notices something unusual—her classmates appear unlike anyone she has known before, with exaggerated features and heavy linework typical of hard-core gekiga manga. She is relieved to see her childhood friend Zen Gokurakuji in the same class, though he has also undergone a noticeable change.
