A prince travels with his servant and a witch, seeking a suitable bride. After a shipwreck, he arrives at a mysterious kingdom and encounters a sorrowful mermaid-like figure. As he becomes involved in local events, he discovers that appearances are deceptive and the situation relates to another well-known fairy tale princess.
