A collection of interconnected stories forms the manga, featuring recurring characters like Takama, a farmer, and Aya Takashi, a young girl who starts the series living in Tokyo with her two younger siblings after being abandoned by her father. In the second volume, Aya moves to the countryside to live with relatives near Takama's farm. Additional chapters explore various settings and characters, including a samurai in the Edo period hunting forbidden eggplants, a futuristic Mount Fuji, a truck driver, and "Summer in Andalusia," which follows Spanish professional cyclist Pepe Benengeli and was adapted into a film.
