Savanna

A woman moves through the savanna, caught between jungle and desert, during an era before language existed. She conveys her feelings through physical movement and exists in a world shaped by strength and vulnerability. She forms two figures from mud, but is later killed by a hunter who pierces her with a spear. Her blood touches the mud dolls, causing them to become two babies. The story, part of the "Myths and Legends" series, spans human history on a vast scale, told without dialogue. Originally published in eight chapters, it was later compiled into six chapters for the volume release.
