Kaoru flees her home and is discovered soaked by Mirei, her homeroom teacher, during a rainstorm. Mirei appears composed and reliable at school, but at home, she drinks heavily during the day while talking. Despite this, she attempts to support Kaoru in dealing with her problems. The two begin a tentative relationship marked by their shared immaturity.
