Flanders no Inu, Boku no Patrasche

Nello perd sa mère à un jeune âge et est élevé par son grand-père dans un petit village. Il découvre un chien gravement blessé, qu'il nomme Patrasche, et grâce aux soins de son grand-père, l'animal guérit. Nello et Patrasche développent un lien très fort. Pour aider sa famille, Nello vend du lait en ville en utilisant une charrette tirée par Patrasche.
