Naruto attempts the leaves the training hall, but is blocked by shinobi guards under Shibi Aburame. Iruka arrives and attempts to fool Naruto, only for the youth to escape the cave in Sage Mode. Naruto is restrained via a shadow jutsu as he senses the war and everything, and Iruka continues to convince Naruto. Iruka gives Naruto's headband and attempts to restrain Naruto, but Naruto overpowers the group and leaves. Naruto finds a letter from Iruka in his headband, telling him to return alive.
