Akuemon

A fortuneteller informs Hidari Taisho that killing 1000 foxes is necessary to gain control of the land. Akuemon, a widely disliked figure, is tasked with this fox-hunting mission. In retaliation, the foxes send one of their own to Akuemon's home, disguised as his wife. A relationship develops between Akuemon, who has never experienced love, and the fox, who gradually begins to feel genuine affection for him despite mourning the loss of her fellow foxes. The story is part of the "The Lion Books" series and marks Tezuka Makoto, son of Tezuka, in his first effort to adapt one of his father's original works into an animated format.
