Anne no Nikki: Anne Frank Monogatari

A Jewish girl in Amsterdam during World War II, Anne Frank, and her family go into hiding after her father recognizes the threat to Jews. They join four others in a concealed location, living in secrecy for two years to avoid capture by the Germans. During this time, Anne keeps a diary, documenting daily life in the hiding place, her strained relationship with her mother, and her feelings for Peter, another teenager in hiding. She expresses her longing for freedom and the simple joys of the outside world. Eventually, the group is discovered and sent to concentration camps.
