In 1948 Tokyo, shortly after the war, Kanna Kusakabe, a second-year high school student, encounters Akihiko Chuuzenji, the school's new language teacher. Strange supernatural events occur around Kanna, prompting her to visit the library prep room where Chuuzenji-sensei often resides. She seeks his assistance in dealing with these unusual happenings. The story follows their interactions as they deal with the mysteries surrounding them.
