By the end of the 21st century, Earth faced challenges from overpopulation and resource scarcity. The Moon was developed to address these issues, providing minerals that revitalized Earth's economy. However, those who migrated to the Moon endured difficult conditions. A dream of progress turned into hardship for lunar settlers. Shun Nonomura is about to uncover a weapon capable of challenging the ruling Monopolice and offering hope for freedom. This discovery draws attention from a growing resistance, who unite around an enigmatic alien structure called Dallos. Created in 1983 by Studio Pierrot, it marked the debut of Mamoru Oshii, later known for works like Angel's Egg and Ghost in the Shell.
