An apprentice death god named Risky attempts to claim the life of a person named Moe. However, Risky is bound by magic to an apprentice angel named Safety, causing Risky to transform into Safety whenever someone speaks kindly. Since death gods can only take a life when the person is deeply depressed, Risky struggles to fulfill the task while Safety frequently lifts Moe's spirits.
