Sekai Meisaku Douwa: Wow! Maerchen Oukoku

This anime anthology series, created in 1995 by Toei Animation, Fuji Eight, and Reteitalia, features 26 episodes based on well-known fairy tales and literary classics. Each episode adapts a story from a famous author, including the Brothers Grimm, Charles Perrault, Hans Christian Andersen, and others. The adaptations largely follow the original narratives, though some modifications are made to adjust for a half-hour format or to soften negative endings. Only 21 episodes were aired, with the remaining five distributed on VHS.
