Two childhood friends, Fuuka and Rinne, grew up together in an orphanage before a disagreement caused them to separate, with Rinne besting Fuuka in a physical confrontation. After leaving the orphanage, Fuuka struggled financially until she met Einhard Stratos, a famous martial arts champion. During this chance meeting, Fuuka's potential in combat was uncovered. Impressed, Einhard provides her with employment and support, guiding her training. Eventually, Fuuka is given the opportunity to face Rinne once more, this time in a competitive setting.
