Code Geass: Hangyaku no Lelouch

The Empire of Brittania has invaded Japan, renaming it Area 11 and using advanced weapons called Knightmare Frames. Lelouch, a Brittanian living in Japan, promises his friend Suzaku to dismantle Brittania. Years later, Lelouch attends high school but often skips to play chess and gamble. He encounters a group of 11s who have stolen a military secret and is captured by Suzaku, a Brittanian soldier. As backup arrives, Suzaku is shot for insubordination, and a captured girl grants Lelouch the ability to control others. He takes charge of the group and defeats the incoming Brittania forces. Suzaku is later assigned to pilot the new Lancelot Knightmare. Lelouch adopts the identity of Zero to lead a rebellion against Brittania.
