A high school student experiences trouble sleeping due to a recurring nightmare where he chases a dark-haired girl into a deep abyss over a thousand years in the past. The nightmare becomes so intense that he questions his identity—whether he is a modern-day teenager in Seoul or a member of a warrior family in the first millennium. Individuals from his current life appear to have roles in his past life as he tries to understand his true identity and purpose, moving between time and space. Meanwhile, his present-day school's kendo club competes in the championships, while in the past, he finds himself on the edge of a territorial conflict in Mongolia.
