Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu

A high school freshman named Kyon considers himself unremarkable and has abandoned his childhood fascination with supernatural phenomena. His classmate, Haruhi Suzumiya, is strikingly unusual, openly declaring her wish to encounter aliens, time travelers, or psychic beings during her introduction. Intrigued, Kyon attempts casual conversation with her, which eventually becomes more regular. After remarking on the lack of exciting school clubs, he is unexpectedly pulled into joining the SOS Brigade, a new club Haruhi has created. This manga is the first adaptation of a light novel series and was published in Shōnen Ace. It was discontinued after one volume due to significant deviations from the source material and minimal involvement from the original author.
