In middle school, Ichinose Kimitaka taught basketball to his friends, but they surpassed his abilities. A moment of frustration and jealousy led to an incident, and he was upset to hear them talk about wishing he would die. On the way to discard his basketball shoes, he met a girl who was also frustrated after being rejected from Spanish dancing due to her height and large hands and feet. She was throwing away her dancing shoes. Kimitaka suggested she try basketball instead, and they swapped their shoes.
