A teenager known for his rebellious behavior loses his life while saving a child from a moving vehicle. Due to his unexpected selflessness, the afterlife grants him a new purpose rather than permanent death. He becomes a spirit tasked with carrying out assignments for a supernatural bureaucrat and a ferrywoman responsible for guiding souls. His actions are directed by these figures as he navigates his new existence.
