Katsuaki Ikuse

While studying Japanese Literature at the Faculty of Letters of Waseda University, he applied to become a reserve student for the naval aviation department (11th term). In October 1942, he enlisted in the Tsuchiura Naval Air Group. He was transferred to the Kasumigaura and Yokosuka Air Groups, and the 151st Air Group in Rabaul, where the war ended. He was a naval captain. After being demobilized in May 1946, he worked for NHK and Nippon Broadcasting System. After leaving the companies, he wrote mystery novels and war stories. He passed away in April 1995.
