By 2010, a sudden environmental shift and an unidentified contaminant have caused the extinction of all men, leaving only women in a drastically depopulated world. They reside in isolated pockets, as nature reclaims most of the land. Some embrace their impending extinction and live without concern, while others pursue scientific means to preserve the species. A division exists between these groups, leading to ongoing societal conflict. One of the few remaining habitable areas is central Tokyo, where tensions arise over a specimen known as "ICE" and its potential to offer a solution for humanity's survival.
