Junod

Two junior high students, Mii and Yuko, visit Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park during a school trip and encounter a monument to Dr. Marcel Junod. Curious about his identity, they are suddenly enveloped in a mysterious light and transported to 1935 Europe. They follow the journey of young Dr. Junod, who is traveling to Ethiopia as an ICRC delegate. In Ethiopia, he witnesses attacks on Red Cross personnel and the use of poison gas. Despite the horrors of war, he remains committed to aiding the suffering. Dr. Junod later works in Spain and across World War II battlefields, improving conditions for prisoners of war, facilitating exchanges, and ensuring relief supplies reach those in need. He also creates a system for prisoners and their families to communicate. Through his efforts, Mii and Yuko begin to reconsider their own lives and challenges.
