Richard and Conan receive invitations to a Halloween cruise where guests star in horror films. Vermouth’s invitation to Conan and Jimmy Kudo reveals her knowledge of Conan’s identity. During the event, a host is shot, and Jimmy Kudo accuses the Werewolf of murder using logical deductions about alibis and drink choices. The Werewolf confesses to blackmail by Vermouth. Meanwhile, Haibara is stalked by Dr. Araide, who is revealed to be Vermouth in disguise. Jimmy Kudo is actually Harley Hartwell distracting Vermouth, while Haibara is Conan in disguise attempting to subdue her. The real Haibara is saved by Rachael. Shuichi Akai’s arrival causes Vermouth to take Conan hostage. Conan reveals a covert listening device, but Vermouth uses sleeping gas and destroys it, postponing her plan to kill Haibara.
