Spent his childhood drawing and crafting in his father's art studio. Musashi no Ken won the 29th Shogakukan Manga Award. "Gakuto Retsuden" won the 6th Kodansha Manga award and Ryuu: Ron won the 41st Shogakukan Manga Award.
Was an assistant of Akira Mochizuki. Osamu Uoto and Mitsuo Hashimoto were his assistants.
