Pink Aomata
Pink Aomata is a pseudonymous Japanese manga artist who primarily creates works for a shoujo audience. She made her debut in 1988 with <i>Ninja Kumari</i>, which appeared in the <i>Newtype</i> supplement <i>Comic Genki</i>, published by Kadokawa Shoten. She is best known, however, for her two long-running manga adaptations of Kyokutei Bakin's 19th-century epic novel <i>Nansou Satomi Hakkenden</i>. The first, <i>Hakkenden</i>, is a straightforward adaptation, while the second, <i>Blind Game</i>, reimagines the story in a near-future setting.
Another notable work is her <i>Kigai Karte</i> series, a collection of standalone stories that began in 1994 in the magazine <i>Wings</i>, published by Shinshokan.
Only one of Aomata's manga, <i>Tenka Ichi!!</i>, has been translated into English. One of her earlier works, <i>Fight!</i>, was adapted into a single-episode OVA by J.C.Staff in 1993 and later released in the United States by Media Blasters in 2001.
