Starting his career in the manga sphere in 2008 by translating the Swedish edition of Death Note, his publishing company Ordbilder Media – which he inherited from his father – would go on to play a historic role in the Swedish manga industry. When all of the major publishers – Bonnier Carlsen, Egmont, etc. – shut down their manga publishing efforts entirely between 2008 and 2013 due to the global financial crisis, Ordbilder would go on to be the only company to translate manga translated to Swedish for most of the 2010s. Since he then hired an old acquaintance from the '00s to translate for his company, this would also be what cemented My Bergström as the longest-working manga translator in Sweden.
