Nadja's joy at discovering that Egypt (with which her mother is connected) is the troupe's next stop gives way to Rosemary throwing her lot in with Rosso and Bianco. In Egypt, Abel tells Nadja that Collette met archeologist Edward Harrison at a dance and she decides to look for him. She discovers that the late Professor Harrison was Christian's mentor and told him about the ring in Nadja's brooch and how the Premingers got it when Collette married into the family.
