Muetta decides to fight alongside the humans to stop Efy Dolgh, so the UN troops launch a full assault against Kurobe Dam to retake the research facility. Before the battle, a more than embarassed Kennosuke proposes to Yukina to stay togheter as a couple after the war's end, and they swear to protect each other for the rest of their lifes. When the battle enrages, the Black Relic, the Gauss-1 driven by Sophie, Muetta's Medusa and the other UN's heavy machines fight with the enemy Relics in front of the base, while a small group of infantries leaded by Graham and Hiromi manages to storm inside the building and take it back without kill the parasited humans, using Zeru's datas to prevent the wormhole from complete its opening. On the outside, even supported by a still alive Sebastian, Muetta and Kennosuke manage to defeat Mirasa and Yaruba respectively, and at that point the Refill unites his Relic with Imusa's one to create a giant robot, but they're both defeated by Yukina, which must face the burden of having personally killed for the first time. Refill retires into the ship, where he tries to send an aid request into the space, but he's mortally wounded by Zeru, proving to be a clone of one of Zeru's race. Zeru uses a parasite to control a dying Refill, forcing him to complete the wormhole's shutdown, but at that point Refill reveals to Zeru, Yukina and Kennosuke that the Efy Dolgh see the humans as a menace for their empire, and that depite their victory a new exploration force will reach the Earth in 220 years to start a new conquest's attempt.
