In 2099, a NASA Apollo capsule is discovered in the Mongolian desert, seemingly present for 65 million years. At the same time, a mysterious black object on Mars is consuming one of the planet's moons. The Earth vessel Davide is dispatched to examine the phenomenon but gets pulled into a vortex, leaving Lila Mochizuki and her crew stranded far from Earth.
