Furudate's first published work was King Kid (2008), which won an honorable mention on the 14th Jump Treasure Newcomer Manga Prize.

Up to date, their gender is unknown and it hasn't been revealed whether 'Haruichi Furudate' is a pen name or not. However, it's a ​popular belief among the Japanese fans that Haruichi Furudate is actually a woman.
