Naomi and Ross have built a family together after initially meeting some years earlier. While they live ordinary lives, they must conceal their true identities due to widespread belief that robots should not be considered equal to humans. Ross is presented with a chance to change this perception through a vote on Earth, but behind-the-scenes groups are actively trying to prevent the vote from succeeding.
