After being betrayed and defeated by Rucitania's fanatical warriors using dark magic, the armies of Pars are destroyed. Prince Arislan flees his ruined homeland and begins gathering a team of five unique companions: a priestess, a warrior in exile, a playful minstrel, a thoughtful artist, and his personal attendant. Their goal is to raise an army and confront 300,000 Rucitanian soldiers, including the enigmatic Lord Silver Mask, who also seeks the throne of Pars.
