Wu Xie, returning to Hangzhou after previous journeys, is contacted by Lao Yang, a childhood friend he hasn't spoken to in a while. Lao Yang recalls their adventure in the Qinling Mountains three years earlier and suggests revisiting the area to explore ancient ruins. During their trip, they encounter a large taimen fish, a massive underground waterfall, and a mysterious ancient tree. Zhang Qiling, who has remained in the background, quietly supports Wu Xie throughout the journey.
