In the distant future, Earth's population declined after reaching a peak. To preserve the species and manage the ecosystem, AI was developed as part of a grand experiment in human diversity. Through genetic engineering, a variety of peoples, including beastfolk and magical beings, were created to live in a city divided into walled "clusters." Each cluster evolved its own distinct culture, suited to its inhabitants. The AI oversees their lives and the system to ensure the survival of the population.
