A century ago, a catastrophic event shattered the Moon into a vast amount of orbital debris. Though Earth was preserved through advanced technology, the incident is largely forgotten. A teenager named Haruka Amami auditions for the Idolmaster Project, believing it to be an opportunity to become a singer. Instead, she is taken to a hidden school operated by the Mondenkind Agency, where she joins other selected girls to pilot iDOLs—highly advanced robots designed to intercept falling moon rocks. The agency is not entirely trustworthy, and it soon becomes apparent that the iDOLs may be more than just machines. Haruka begins to sense emotions coming from her iDOL, Imber, raising questions about its true nature.
