Jeremy no Ki

A bird, raised by a tree after being abandoned, becomes separated when the tree is cut down and taken to the city for Christmas. Determined to locate its tree mother, the bird is aided by Jeremy, an orphan with no money who learned of her story. Together, they search through all the decorated trees in town. As the cold weather strains Jeremy, a mysterious figure resembling Santa Claus appears, though his true identity remains uncertain.
