He escapes by stealing a fighter jet, piloting it expertly despite no prior experience, drawing on DNA memory. A friend takes him to a hidden lab to uncover ways to oppose the ruling force. When captured, Rei Yuuki unexpectedly destroys their carrier with a fighter jet. Both possess abilities the regime seeks, possibly linked to their status as the only known meteor survivors. They search for a third survivor, later revealed to be a cat, and are taken to Queen Photon, who claims to want to save Earth from the meteor's originators. A telepathic cat helps them escape, and Mello clarifies the situation. The group must decide whether to remain on Earth or venture into space.
