A group of female pilots known as the Kotobuki Squadron provides aerial protection in a world where zeppelin transport is the safest method of shipping goods. Air pirates attack these routes, endangering trade and holding isolated communities hostage. The squadron uses Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa fighters to defend cargo and escort flights, engaging in risky missions where errors can lead to deadly crashes. The pilots, including Kylie, Reona, Chika, Emma, Kate, and Zara, take on these challenges for the opportunity to fly and pursue their airborne careers.
