McDull: Gushi

A young boy with average intelligence consistently strives to meet expectations and bring joy to his mother. Despite the possibility that he may not achieve the success she envisions, he remains persistent. The narrative consists of multiple stories from his childhood, recounted by him as an adult. These stories blend creative uses of Cantonese with elements of Hong Kong culture. They include experiences such as a turkey dinner and aspirations to emulate Lee Lai-shan, illustrating the challenges and support he receives from his strict yet caring mother.
