In a repressive, patriarchal society, a high-heeled shoe named Mulan Hua opposes a baby shoe factory to prevent her daughter from being altered into a male shoe. To care for her child, she disguises herself as a male shoe and works in a cigarette factory under capitalist conditions. The narrative explores themes of maternal sacrifice, feminist resistance, and the corrupting influence of power.
