Five hundred years after humanity was wiped out by the enigmatic Beasts, the remaining races live on floating islands to avoid the creatures. A small group of young girls, known as the Leprechauns, are the only ones capable of using ancient weapons to defend against Beast attacks. Willem, the last surviving human, awakens after a long frozen sleep following his final battle. Though unable to fight, he takes on a paternal role, supporting and raising the girls while coping with his new existence. He reflects on the pain of waiting for someone to return from battle, a feeling he once knew as a father. Over time, Willem and the girls explore the meaning of family and what is truly worth protecting.
