Jihriel's Miracles

The fourth princess, Saria, has come to the church in order to perform in a recital of holy communion. When she plays piano and Escher sings, the divine sorcery that Lloyd has sought is revealed. While the 7th prince is thrilled at first, upon sensing a magical presence, he uses teleportation sorcery to track down its source. He ends up following Jihriel, an angel, all the way to the realm of the gods’ acolytes, Paradise.

Ghoul Hunt

Lloyd manages to overwhelm Jihriel despite him divine levels of power, and learns the divine sorcery he's been seeking. Upon returning to the surface, he makes a deal with Galilea and the others. Afterwards, in order to study “purifying-class” spells, which is effective on undead and spirits, Lloyd, Sylpha, Ren, and Tao head to the eastern district's sewers, where ghouls have been spotted in significant numbers. The result is a bizarre contest, centered around Lloyd.

Civil War

With weapons created from Luxal weapons, Sylpha and the group cut down wave after wave of ghouls until they are confronted by the Neuron Blighted, who can control spinal threads. As that battle rages on, at the church's inner garden, the mysterious priest has Father Harbal by the throat; and Escher, who stumbles upon the scene, finds herself in danger.

The Church's Secret

Babylon helps Escher and the others escape, and despite sensing an insurmountable gap in strength when fighting the mysterious priest, he battles on, betting it all on the vaguest hope. Meanwhile, having left the Father at the adventurer's guild, Escher is tormented by feelings of powerlessness, and heads back to the church out of concern for Babylon. Eyes overflowing with tears, she has an unexpected encounter...

Escher's Will

On the verge of death after his battle, a combination of Lloyd's teleportation sorcery and Escher's devoted healing magic are barely able to save Babylon's life. Afterwards, Lloyd's group investigates the church's inner garden for clues to the mysterious priest's identity. After discovering a door that leads underground, they discover a sight too gruesome to behold.

The Great Advent Festival

Lloyd suspects that the mysterious priest might be one of the Twelve Bishops who oversee the central church. In anticipation of an assassination attempt on the Pope during the Great Advent Festival, Albert orders Sylpha and the others to keep an eye on the Bishops. On the day of the festival at the Daen Cathedral, while others are celebrating the reunion of the Pope and the kingdom, a sudden rumbling is heard.
