A high school student named Yoshimi is unsettled by a flamboyantly dressed man who frequently visits the convenience store where he works. After the man, Makoto, collapses outside the store, the two form a friendship. Later, a man, his younger cousin, and the cousin's best friend deal with the consequences of an accidental death, murder, guilt, and punishment. Haruhiko's summer plans with his girlfriend are canceled, and he is sent to stay with his cousin by the beach, where he meets a waiter named Nanami, who reacts with surprise to his presence.
