ATRI: My Dear Moments

A sudden and unexplained rise in sea levels has submerged much of human civilization. A boy, who lost his mother and a leg in a past accident, returns to his rural hometown, now partially underwater, after a difficult life in the city. Struggling with debt and alone, he inherits a ship and submarine from his late grandmother, an oceanologist. A debt collector named Catherine offers him a way forward by suggesting they search for treasure in his grandmother’s submerged laboratory. Instead of treasure, they find a girl in a coffin at the ocean floor. She is a robot named Atri, who appears and behaves like a human. Grateful for being rescued, she vows to fulfill her purpose by becoming his leg. Together, they spend a summer in a town slowly sinking beneath the sea.
