A boy named Takahiko Amano, who prefers staying indoors, experiences a sudden accident. Afterward, his spirit begins pleading, "Release me! From this body, from this lonely isolated life, and from this miserable fate!" Soon after, a "spirit separationist" appears, thrusting Takahiko into an unexpected and unimaginable situation.
