Code Geass: Hankou no Suzaku

The Empire of Brittania has taken over Japan, renaming it Area 11 and its people the 11s, using advanced weapons known as Knightmare Frames. Lelouch, a Brittanian who once lived in Japan, promises his friend Suzaku to destroy Brittania. Years later, Lelouch skips school to play chess and gamble. He encounters 11s who have stolen a military secret and is captured by Suzaku, a Brittanian task force member. As the squad arrives, Suzaku is shot for defying orders. A girl, who is the military secret, grants Lelouch the ability to command anyone. Lelouch takes control of the terrorists and defeats the approaching Brittania forces. Suzaku is secretly assigned to pilot a new Knightmare, the Lancelot. Lelouch becomes the rebel leader known as Zero. This series presents the story from Suzaku's perspective, while another series covers Lelouch's.
