A female officer named Kiku Shinonome sustained severe injuries during an investigation and was placed in hibernation due to the lack of available medical treatments. Sixty years later, she awakens in a Japan where the police force has transitioned to a privatized system. She partners with Kyou Tsukisagari, a former criminal who possesses supernatural abilities. Together, they work as a team in a near-future setting.
