Vampires become ash when exposed to sunlight and are restricted to nighttime activity. Toraki Yura is one such vampire who has adapted well to modern life by working a night shift at a convenience store in Ikebukuro and living in a dimly lit semi-basement apartment with blackout curtains. He leads a disciplined life in hopes of one day becoming human again. After rescuing a blonde woman from a drunk man, he discovers she is Sister Iris, a nun whose mission is to eliminate vampires. To his dismay, she ends up staying in his home. The story explores how this unexpected development affects his quiet existence.
