In 1960, a young boy named Otto lives in a remote, snowy mountain village in Oshu. About to begin elementary school, he grows up among nature, animals, and his family. Despite their poverty, Otto enjoys the richness of simple daily life. His father remains unemployed and often shouts at the family, while his mother shows kindness. Otto's older siblings mirror their father's harsh behavior. As the youngest, Otto faces the family's treatment but still finds time for small adventures.
