During the final months of the One Year War in U.C. 0079, Major Wolfgang commands Zeon's "Hunter of Black Clothes" squadron, known for their atmospheric missions. The unit takes its name from Wolfgang's black-painted Zaku. The Earth Federation refers to them as "GM Hunters." Wolfgang engages in battle against a GM unit while operating near the planet's atmosphere.
